PTCL Signs Fiber Leasing Agreement with Telenor Pakistan

Telenor Pakistan and Pakistan Telecommunication Ltd for the second consecutive year have entered in to a contract under which they will share infrastructure and backhaul. Under the contract Pakistan Telecommunication Ltd will provide Telenor Pakistan an opportunity to deliver quality services by providing footprint of fiber around 950 kilometers. Further Telenor Pakistan will also be able to use the fiber footprint of Pakistan Telecommunication Ltd to enhance its telecommunication services (STAFF, 2017).

The ceremony that held at the Headquarter of Pakistan Telecommunication Ltd, the agreement signed by the Chief executive officer of Telenor Pakistan MR. Irfan Wahab Khan and CEO & President of Pakistan Telecommunication Ltd Mr. Daniel Ritz (STAFF, 2017).

Speaking to the audience present at the occasion the CEO & President of Pakistan Telecommunication Ltd Mr. Daniel Ritz said:

“We are delighted to sign yet another partnership with Telenor Pakistan, in fact second year in succession for provision of PTCL’s fiber optic network. Having served as the communication backbone of the country since inception, our partnership with Telenor Pakistan will help them to expand their 3G and 4G network further in order to provide high quality voice and data services. PTCL will continue to play its major role in fiber and other telecom infrastructure developments, contributing to the overall growth of the country.”

The contract also included the project under which they will expand 4G and 3G networks, both have such agreements in past but this time Telenor Pakistan and Pakistan Telecommunication Ltd for the second consecutive year have entered in to a contract under which they will share infrastructure and backhaul. Under the contract Pakistan Telecommunication Ltd will provide Telenor Pakistan an opportunity to deliver quality services by providing footprint of fiber around 950 kilometers.
