Apple suppliers may have just confirmed 2 key rumored features in the iPhone 8: Apple is famous about being secretive about its upcoming products, almost they have never shared info before their official launch. But, by the grace of two Apple suppliers, we may have been told about the two key features in the upcoming iPhone 8: Wireless charging, and a 3D depth-sensing selfie camera that would allow you to unlock your phone with your face.
Apple supplier Wistron was present at the company’s annual share holders meeting and mentioned that the next phone from Apple will feature wireless charging.
They will also have traditional front-facing cameras that allows you unlock your phone with your face aren’t always particularly safe. This is the case with the Samsung Galaxy S8 which can be tricked with a photo of user’s face but the 3D-sensing camera will map the user’s face with the help of infrared lasers, adding an extra level of security to the iphone. It also enables iris recognition that is another potential verification method.
This is the thing that we’ve heard rumored before. In February, reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that the iPhone 8 would have this feature but with these latest statements from suppliers, we’re getting a clearer picture of what will be in the next iPhone.
It is rumored that it will have an almost edge-to-edge screen, meaning Apple can pack a much larger screen on device about the same size as that of the current 4.7-inch iPhone 7. Apple may also be able to ditch the physical home button and build up the fingerprint scanner directly into the screen, which is curved at its edges but it is also believed to get delayed due to technical challenges in its manufacturing, meanwhile it may be announced in September alongside with thw expected iPhone 7s and 7s Plus, it might not be available on sale until months later and even then, there could be shortages.
Just don’t expect Apple to confirm or deny any of these features before the official launch.
