A committee of 14 execs will be controlling Uber during CEO Travis Kalanick’s leave of absence

A committee of 14 execs will be controlling Uber during CEO Travis Kalanick’s leave of absence: Uber CEO Travis Kalanick has asked to take a leave of absence from the company, and in in his re placement , Uber will be controlled and run by a committee of 14 execs.  Kalanick will be taking a leave of absence for “work on myself” and also to deal with a recent family incident, this what he explained in his email to the company.

Kalanick’s leave of absence comes after the result of an investigation by former Attorney General Eric Holder for Uber’s toxic workplace environment. The report didn’t suggest that Kalanick stepped away from the company, but Uber’s board of heads discussed it with Kalanick during an emergency board meeting on last Sunday. The report recommends that Kalanick’s responsibilities be reviewed. During Kalanick’s absence, Uber will be run by 14 of his direct reports.
